Melody Meckfessel is a hands-on technology leader with more than 20 years experience building and maintaining large-scale distributed systems and solving problems at scale. In her current role as VP of Engineering, she leads DevOps for Google including Google Cloud Platform tools and systems. Her team powers the world’s most advanced continuously delivered software, enabling development teams to turn ideas into reliable, scalable production systems. Google DevOps implements the full development lifecycle from search to learning, coding, debugging, building, testing, production and iteration. In addition to powering the productivity of Google’s engineers, Melody’s team is bringing Google’s best practices to every software development and operations team in the world.

> After graduating from UC Berkeley, Melody began her career in programming for startups and enterprise companies. Since joining Google in 2004, Melody has led teams in Google’s core search systems, search quality and cluster management.

> As the current Co-Chair of Technical Infrastructure Diversity Equity and Inclusion, Melody champions programs to bridge the gap for under-represented engineers and serves as a role model for creating and fostering an inclusive workplace for engineers.
